History

Through our topic-based teaching, we foster strong cross-curricular links with PSHE, SMSC and Fundamental British Values. Children are immersed in history in a variety of ways, both in and out of the classroom, including local visits, visitors and ‘themed days’ at school linked to their learning. We encourage historical enquiry by developing skills such as questioning, understanding chronology and analysing evidence from different sources.
A high-quality history education will help pupils gain a coherent knowledge and understanding of Britain’s past and that of the wider world.
