Geography

At Hailey School, we believe that geography begins at home. The younger children in particular spend time exploring their local surroundings and the village. We do lots of local walks, so the children are confident at exploring their locality. Children make comparisons between this and the wider world, as well as learn other geographical skills linked to our termly topics. Throughout all our teaching, we encourage children to look for their place in the world, as they learn about different places, environments, societies and cultures.
A high-quality geography education should inspire in pupils a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people that will remain with them for the rest of their lives.
